Infants first years are an exciting time with lots of exploration and discovery. Research shows that engaging infants in interactive experiences that involve sensory, motor, and social explorations build brain connections.
Our focus with young babies is to build a relationship through positive responsiveness and to support their active engagement.
Starting at the age of three months I use the professionally created curriculum by Mother Goose Time to help build those brain connections.
With this easy-to-use Mother Goose curriculum I actively engage and stimulate infants through social interactions: talking, playing, moving, singing, reading, and signing (simple ASL).
Activities are integrated across all domains of infant development—physical, emotional, social, and cognitive—and develop a wide variety of skills, including:
As a part of the curriculum I use:
You can either pack baby food daily, or you can send enough for the week. I only feed your baby what you bring for the first year. Try the foods at home first to make sure there isn't any allergic reaction. If there is an allergic reaction make sure to notify me ASAP. I will then notify all parents here to not pack anything containing what your little one is allergic to. We love incorporating the Baby-Led Weaning method- it's a unique approach to starting solid foods. Baby-Led weaning involves jumping straight to finger foods and bypassing purees. (they must be able to sit up unassisted usually 6months old) If you're interested in this method. Let me know and we can all work together. (my led-babies eat everything and anything- especially veggies!)
You can pack formula/breast milk daily. Or you can supply a can of formula on the first of the month, and I will let you know when we are running low. Please send four bottles for us to keep here.
Bring 1 box of diapers, and 1 box of wipes on the first of the month. When I am running low I will let you know. I always have backups just incase.
We will need to make it brief. You must wait in your car until the previous parents have left our door. Always make sure hands are washed/sanitized before arriving. Adults need to keep the "6ft spacing" with our staff. I will hand out our new regulations during the interview. They change almost daily if not weekly.
If anything extra is needed during the day such as books, infant toys, jackets, swimsuits, floaties, -remember to write your children's name on everything and place them in their diaper bags. Bags will need to be hung on the rack outside.
Due to COVID-19- If you want your child to celebrate their birthday at school, you can bring cupcakes, or cookies. (We are NOT allowed to blow out candles on a big cake- but they can blow out candles on their own cupcake.) Parents can NOT be present during classroom celebrations, or school party's at the moment.
